      ABOUT THE ARTIST
Niall Julian has been a petrolhead for as long as he can remember. Cars, in particular classics, have always held a deep fascination, which has over the years combined with his background in photography, film and digital media. All of these came together in 2015 when Niall founded the award-winning classic car blog Take to the Road. Since then the site has grown to become one of the UK’s leading automotive blogs. As a freelance photojournalist, Niall attends many of the UK’s top Concours shows, always with a camera in hand.

      ABOUT THIS COMMISSION
The Bristol 405 was a British luxury car which was manufactured by the Bristol Aeroplane Company. The 405 was manufactured from 1955 to 1958, available as a four-seat, four-door saloon and as a four-seat, two-door drophead coupé. The 405 drophead coupé or 405D (43 built) had a convertible body by Abbotts of Farnham. The body used aluminium panels over a steel and ash frame, mounted on a substantial horse-shoe shaped chassis. Most cars built had a highly tuned (through advanced valve timing) version of the 2-litre six-cylinder engine called the 100C which developed 125 bhp.
